Passionnés de Simca, père et fils vont ouvrir un musée dédié à la marque mythique

In the Lhuissiers, the simcaIt’s a family affair. And soon a museum dedicated to the car brand, which is expected to open in 2023, in Bonnetable (Sarthe).

Florian, 31, Jonathan, 29 and Baptiste, 23, were bitten by the virus transmitted by their father, Thierry, 57. He himself was contaminated by his ancestor. “My father had a Simca. I saved the smell, the noise, the acceleration Simcas. He didn’t like long drives, but he drove,” she recalls.

“The stroller did not fit” in the Simca

Your first Simca? It was a 1307 S. “It was my grandfather who advanced me the money because I didn’t have a car to go to work. Thierry is 20 years old. and he struts proudly in his Adriatic Green Metallic Race Carwith black velvet interior…

But the passion of youth pushes him to buy a Golf GTI… Before Simca’s love catches up with him. “I bought my father-in-law’s old car, a Simca 1308 GT. “A real joy. The one he’ll give up when he’s a father…” The stroller wouldn’t fit, “he laughs.

Your accompanied driving in a Simca

One thing leads to another, with his wife Nadine, they find the Simca. Thierry waits until 2005 to get hold of a 1967 1501 automatic. Then a 1301 from the same year. The man puts there the landmarks of his future collection.…and infects its offspring along the way.

Florian remembers very well having spent his accompanied driving in the special 1100 of 1973: “4000 km. What we were doing tourist rallies, with mom as co-pilot. Since we were children, with my brothers, we have had that in our hearts. Not the driving, that would be pretentious, but the driving.”

“Like their father, all three brothers are interested in vehicles in general. But especially the old ones. And above all in the Simca”, continues the eldest of the brothers.

Like all collectors, it does not become a virus, but a disease. We see one, we cut, then another… We deprive ourselves of leisure to dedicate ourselves to these vehicles, but also to posters, decorations, plaques.

They create the friendly “Simca Pasión”

In the cupboards, in the attic of the house, objects linked to the brand accumulate everywhere. Even piling up. Thierry is the sole owner 28 vehicles, as many for Florian as a dozen for Jonathan. Baptiste doesn’t have one, but the truck mechanic student is a great support to his father in getting the different models in the family up and running again.

Thus, in the courtyard of the family home, in Lombron (Sarthe), the idea of creating an Amicale took off. is the birth of simca passion “.
