On the side of Flavien Klisowska’s house in Chécy, this summer, there should be a new extension of 30 square meters. But on this first day of August there is only grass… and, attached to the wall, the panel of a work that has never had, and probably never will have, a venue.
Owner here for seven years, Flavien Klisowska launched this home extension project last fall. Enough to make one more bedroom, and space for his partner and his two children who will come to live with him (he already has two children next to him).
For the work, he turned to Phénix Evolution, a subsidiary of the Geoxia group, whose agency was located in Saint-Jean-le-Blanc. Unlike Sologne et Loire Habitat, independent of Geoxia since 1993, Phénix Evolution is a subsidiary of the group, put into compulsory liquidation at the end of June 2022. For Flavien Klisowska, the pill is hard to swallow.
Geoxia liquidation: Maisons Phénix projects continue in Loiret
“Normally, it was a security guarantee”
“We went through Phénix, because of their experience, also because the house is already a Phoenix house… Normally, it was a security guarantee, there was nothing to worry about,” says this Cacien.
The works are estimated at 77,000 euros, with a start initially planned for the month of March, several quotas were delivered: 2,000 euros at the beginning; 21,510 euros on February 15; then 23,510 euros on April 1. That’s it More than 47,000 euros paid by Flavien Klisowska to Phénix Evolutionmore than 60% of the total work, without having seen the slightest centimeter of concrete or construction machinery.
A first technical visit took place on March 11. Then, “they came back in April, they brought the bulldozer to see how it was going to be.” Next, “we were regularly reminded to pay these deposits, that’s where we felt ripped off”.
“Everything is Destroyed”
On May 25, he received an email from the company Phenix Evolution, which had just been put into receivership.. He cites the whirlwind of Covid, the war in Ukraine and the rise in the price of raw materials, to explain his difficulties. Shortly before, “we received a call from a commercial to tell us that there was a problem. But then he told us not to worry, that he was going to resume…“
However, concern remained, and rightly so. New mail received by the owner on June 29, this time, to announce the judicial liquidation from geoxia.
“It turns everything upside down, we find ourselves gathering two children in a room, hugging each other … Everything is destroyed, we will no longer be able to do this extension because we no longer have the funds, now we are going to make some tweakshow can we… And we are in debt for twenty years”.
However, it is not because of her personal situation that Flavien Klisowska says she is mobilizing. “We know very well that there is no possibility that we will recover the money. We are not fighting for ourselves, but for others, there is a legal vacuum. Today we have an insurance guarantee for construction, but for everything that is expansion or reform, there is nothing.
Flavien Klisowska is part of a Facebook group, “Recovering our Phénix Evolution quotas”, which has made it possible to connect people in the same situation throughout France. One of the goals of this group is mount a collective action, stronger than a multitude of individual actions“Which would give absolutely nothing. Now we have to look for solutions, it makes no sense to look back.”
If the month of August is not conducive to progress on this front, “We have to have meetings again in September”. That organizing the expansion, this time, of the field of struggle…
