banghai or

We start off strong by talking about the Bangai-O license, but not just any DreamCast! Seen as the best, this shoot’em up signed by Treasure and Virgin Interactive will transport you to your childhood. You control a very powerful robot with very heavy weapons. You will plunge into a futuristic universe where a fight between you and Cosmo Gang, your enemy, is inevitable. Released on both DreamCast and Nintendo 64, the franchise doesn’t stop there and continues in 2008 with Bangai-O Spirits on Nintendo DS.

Release date : 2000

cannon spike

Cannon Spike qualifies as the last DreamCast game to be released in Europe before the console runs out of steam. Originally from an arcade game, it uses the exact codes in its DreamCast version. The game uses most of Capcom’s iconic heroes, much appreciated for the tribute it pays to mythical characters like Megaman or Cammy from Street Fighter. Stage ? A group of terrorist robots threatens Earth and the Capcom heroes band together to fight them by forming a Special Anti-Robot Unit. A somewhat complex story, but one that has the honor of being original.

Conveyor

I’m sure Carrier doesn’t tell you anything and, in fact, it has never been released in France. Despite a French translation, gamers wanting to get their hands on it had to go to stores in the UK in order to play this famous Caesar. The Japanese Survival-Horror takes place in 2023, in a post-apocalyptic world where you play as Jack Ingles, a member of the investigation team who has gone in search of a lost ship where his brother is. Reminiscent of Resident Evil: Code Veronica for its three-dimensional setting, the player will go through many corridors and decks of the ship in search of keys and weapons against the creatures that are there.

D2

Let’s stay in survival-horror with D.2, one of the games developed by SEGA and WARP. It is the first game officially announced on DreamCast by SEGA. Combining shooters and role-playing games, we find Laura lost in a world called Tundra after a plane crash. Totally amnesiac, you will have to progress through the game bit by bit to allow the heroine to regain her memory. A very good game with a heavy atmosphere and a very adult setting, even if you have to understand English or Japanese well, because unfortunately the game was never released in France.

skin fighters

Combining platforming, combat, and puzzles, you take control of a group of animals in a unique style. Between the kangaroo, the penguin, the cat or the dog, you will have to fight to save the baby animals that have been kidnapped. Mastered and trained, your companions must move through a fully 3D environment where all abilities of each animal are important. Fur Fighters sets up appreciable gameplay where there is a single player chapter, but the two player mode is much more recommendable.

hydroelectric thunder

A racing game yes, but with boats! Hydro Thunder, released on DreamCast, is a racing game where you drive many overpowered ships through various stages. Eurocom and Midway offer us a game where the objective is to win by avoiding the traps on your way, overtaking your opponents and grabbing the turbo bonuses in the thirteen courses that are offered, similar to a car race. However, the game has multiple weaknesses such as graphics, bugs, and slowdowns. But that doesn’t stop it from being a good game.

Release date : 1999

Mars Matrix

Mars Matrix by its full name Mars Matrix: Hyper Solid Shooting, is a vertical scrolling shooter game developed by Takumi and Capcom on the SEGA console. Based on a system of absorbing shots from your opponents, the stronger your enemy’s energy is, the more powerful your shot will be. You have to fight on a ship for six levels, where many bosses will prevent you from advancing. A good action game to rediscover for the more adventurous.

MDK 2

Shiny Entertainment breathed new life with the release of MDK. The action game MDK 2 is best known among gamers for its extreme difficulty. You are Kurt Hectic, endowed with extraordinary movement skills and leading a team of 3 people to save the universe. The game has third person gameplay and is based on agility and speed which makes it almost unplayable. MDK 2 is pure hardcore gaming.

justice project

A selection without game in a school? Never ! We bring you Project Justice, a fighting game that follows Rival Schools. While the game is quickly assimilated into the larger Capcom Street Fighter franchise, there is something about it that makes it unique. Project Justice features students from various schools who must compete against each other. The game is aimed at an audience that appreciates period manga humor and wants to experience a different kind of traditional fighting game.

StarLancer

StarLancer on Dreamcast, is a fighting game that takes place not on earth like a multitude of games of this style, but in space. You must embody a pilot who has chosen to volunteer to repel the enemy attack of the Eastern Alliance against the Western Coalition. We find a completely 3D environment that will make you want to complete the 25 missions that this crazy adventure offers you.

The classification of the dead

How to teach your child to write while having fun? Well, not with The Typing of the Dead. The Smilebit, SEGA and Empire Interactive game is a spin-off of The House of The Dead saga, where instead of touching the zombies to shoot them, you have to write the word associated with them to launch the ball. Fan of speed typing? The game is for you and is recommended for the most skilled among us.

Release date : 2000

Ultimate Fighting Championship

We go from a game that smells a little more like testosterone and less like a zombie. It’s Ultimate Fighting Championship, a no-holds-barred fighting game. At your disposal, 22 fighters, 3000 moves and 1200 combos to take your opponent to the knockout or forfeit.

Vanishing Point

To finish this selection, we are going to play soft and offer a racing game with a rather atypical name. The arcade-focused racing game Vanishing Point, published by Acclaim, gives rise to completely crazy races on roads frequented by crazy drivers like ordinary people. With the help of a Lotus, a BMW or a Ford, you can take part in a multitude of competitions on the roads of the cities and the countryside.
