Subsidies, bonuses, fuel… here are all the aid planned for the start of the school year!

Subsidies and aid to increase the purchasing power of French households: this is THE theme of the start of the 2022 school year! In fact, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, watches the issue of purchasing power with great attention. Abused by the war in the Ukraine and runaway inflation, this is unheard of since 1985!

On the eve of the start of the school year, many households will finally be able to benefit from various subsidies to deal with inflation. Back-to-school bonus, fuel discount, school subsidy… Thus, a certain number of aids are planned at the dawn of a new school year marked by inflation and the energy crisis. once upon a time explains everything to you.

The Back to School Grant

It is distributed each year to three million families as the start of the school year approaches. Its amount differs depending on the age of the child. From 6 to 10 years old, parents receive 392.05 euros per child. The amount increases to 413.69 euros for children from 11 to 14 years old. They are 428.02 euros for children between 15 and 18 years old. The back to school bonus (ARS) is paid the day before the start of the school year and in a single payment. It allows parents to bear the often very high costs of starting the school year. ” Back to school allowance is useful and fair! It is a precious help (…) to finance the children’s supplies and cover the expenses of going back to school. “, declares the government spokesman, Olivier Véran.

Great novelty this year: like the number of bonuses, it has been increased by 4% due to the law of purchasing power. The back-to-school allowance has usually already been paid in part. The increase will be the subject of a second installment in mid-September.

The return bonus

Parliament voted, on August 4, as part of the Purchasing Power Bill, an exceptional back-to-school bonus that aims to support taxpayers. The back-to-school bonus is aimed at the most modest households, which already receive the social minimum, APL and scholarship students. Payment will be made on September 15.

The Minister of Solidarity, Jean-Christophe Combe, evokes ” a guarantee of solidarity and social justice for families and for those who are strongly affected by inflation“. The amount of this subsidy is 100 euros per household and 50 euros per dependent child.

The fuel discount

Due to inflation, prices have skyrocketed, and in particular energy prices. For more than six months, fuel prices have skyrocketed, often exceeding €2 a litre.

The fuel discount decided under the authority of Jean Castex and extended by Élisabeth Borne aims to lower the price at the pump. This is a discount of 18 cents per liter of fuel, effective from April 1. The amount will even increase during the months of September and October, reaching a discount of 30 cents. From November it will go down and this time it will go down to 10 cents.

The Pass’Sport allocation

The Pass’Sport is a back-to-school sports aid for 50 euros per eligible child/youth to finance all or part of their enrollment in an eligible sports structure for the 2022-2023 season. Pass’Sport may be obtained by underage students who are beneficiaries of the back-to-school subsidy, beneficiaries of the education subsidy for disabled children under 19 years of age, scholarship students under 28 years of age, as well as beneficiaries of the subsidy for disabled adults under 30 years old.

Assistance with the purchase of an electric bicycle

If aid has already existed for several years for cyclists who wish to invest in a bicycle, today it is extended to electric bicycles.

Is the price of fuel too expensive for you? Or do you want to do something for the environment? In fact, the aid devices will accompany your approach from August 15 to December 31. The aid can reach 2,000 euros for the purchase of a cargo bike, a folding bike, an electric bike trailer or a bike adapted for people with disabilities. For a simple new bicycle, the aid can reach up to 400 euros.

This bonus is intended for people whose tax base per share is less than 13,489 euros. For people with disabilities and those whose tax reference unit income is less than or equal to 6,300 euros. Thus, the aid can reach up to 400 euros.

The Shared Value Bonus

The shared value bonus replaces the exceptional purchasing power bonus known as the “Macron bonus” or “PEPA”. It is, according to the same principle: exemption from social charges to encourage companies to pay them to their employees, and tax exemption for employees who receive them, under certain conditions.

It is optional because it depends on the employer. If the employee earns less than three times the minimum wage, the bonus is tax-advantaged. Thus, you can benefit from an exemption from social contributions and personal income tax, with a limit of 3,000 euros. In some cases, it can reach 6,000 euros. The premium may be paid in one or more installments, with a limit of one per quarter.
