New look for a new life. A true bestseller on the Blue Oval, the Ford E-Transit Custom gets a facelift this year. As a reminder, Ford has been the number 1 fleet vehicle in Europe for 7 years. Utility first plays the design card and does it well. Thus, it adopts a front closer to that of the Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV than to that of the Transit. The look is sharper, bolder, and overall more streamlined. What makes it more attractive, always further away from the unsexy image of a classic utility vehicle. The light signatures evolve delicately, as does the more streamlined Ford logo and grille at the front. Performance and autonomy: intelligent management
The Ford E-Transit Custom offers two engine options: 100 kW (136 hp) or 160 kW (217 hp). The engine is fixed directly to the rear floor and develops 415 Nm of torque in propulsion. The truck’s power supply is provided by a 400 V, 74 kWh battery pack. This uses the same 82 Ah cells as the Ford F-150 Lightning. Enough to show an energy density 12% higher than that of the Ford E-Transit. The package promises 380 km of autonomy, four times the average mileage (about 90 km/day) of Ford Pro customers. Ford Pro Charging makes energy management easier for companies, especially those that do not necessarily have fleet managers . The software simplifies the planning and payment of top-ups at home, at the depot or at the station. Of course, intelligent management allows charging to be planned outside peak hours, for example.
The battery requires 7 to 8 hours of charging at 11 kW (AC). In a fast charge of 125 kW, 41 minutes are enough to go from 15 to 80% of energy. Still at 125 kW, tests indicate a recovery of 38 km of autonomy in just 5 minutes. On the driving side, the Ford E-Transit Custom retains advantages such as independent rear suspension, essential in urban areas. Electric operation reinforces serenity at the wheel, with the arrival of a One Pedal mode. Always appreciable to save the brakes and recover a little energy on the road. As for the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the complete stop of the van will be possible without touching the brake pedal. Let’s get inside the utility, shown here as a prototype right-hand drive model. An anti-downtime mobile office

In the future, the diagnosis of an intervention vehicle may even indicate the status of the light bar, for example. Anti-downtime also involves load management.
Beyond the arsenal of connectivity of the Ford E-Transit Custom, the van does not forget the comfort on board. In fact, the van is a true headquarters for its drivers. Ford transforms the cabin into a particularly attractive “Mobile Office”. Starting with the tilting steering wheel, whose rim can adopt two additional positions. Inclined (practical for computer or notebook), or flat with additional tray. A very clever system, which comes with USB ports conveniently dotted around the cabin. The slightly forward position of the front axle, coupled with the flat floor, makes it easy for the three front occupants to get on board. Adaptive LED lighting, ceiling light, additional storage… Nothing is left to chance. Therefore, the E-Transit Custom makes it possible to work or have lunch on the go with more comfort than ever.
Automated features for the Ford E-Transit Custom
The high-tech suite is completed with standard 5G connectivity and a 14-inch SYNC 4 multimedia display. Finally, special mention to the Delivery Assist. This feature automates certain actions of the Ford E-Transit Custom during deliveries. Drivers can make up to 200 stops and deliver 500 packages per day. Stops that represent an average of 20 seconds dedicated to a small routine: turn on the hazard lights, roll up the windows, get out and lock the vehicle. The Delivery Assist can be programmed according to your needs to perform one or more actions automatically. These, therefore, return to their initial state when they return to take their place on board the van. Practical and smart.
